UPDATED WITH VIDEO!
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, 8-6 P.M.
Saint Mark’s Evensong Choir of children, youth and adults plan to be in England next August to sing daily Evensong services in Chichester and Bristol Cathedrals. They are dedicating as much of their own resources toward the total cost of their pilgrimage as they can. However, they need to raise some additional funds so that the trip is affordable for all. To that end, the choir is hosting a Hymnathon on Saturday, October 30, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Evensong choir members and others will sing at least one stanza of all 720 hymns in our hymnal! You are invited to join in the fun. For more information, please visit the Hymnathon Table at coffee hour.
There are a variety of ways to donate!
Hymn or Organ Dedications
Donate $100 or more and pick the hymn or organ piece of your choosing from this list. The choir will sing all verses, with descants, during a special hour reserved for any hymn or organ dedications. Organ dedications will be played between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m.; Hymn dedications will be sung between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
Vote for your favorite hymn
A variety of popular hymns will have tip jars set up at the Hymnathon Table. Vote with your dollars to determine which hymn will win! The winning hymn will be sung on Sunday, November 21.
Sponsorship
Get three friends to sponsor you for a dollar per hymn and sing a hundred of them. At our pace, it will take you less than an hour and you will have brought us $300!
One-time donation
Visit the Saint Mark's Donation page and make your online donation under the "Hymnathon donation" line. Or, use the Venmo app (@SaintMarksCathedralSeattle, QR code below) to donate using your phone.
