6:45 p.m. Cathedral Commons: 1-to-1’s: Getting to the Heart of the Matter POSTPONED

October 9, 2019 @ 6:45 pm - 8:15 pm

DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS PRESENTATION HAS BEEN POSTPONED. THE COMMUNITY MEAL WILL OCCUR AS USUAL, AND THE PROGRAM WILL OCCUR ON A LATER DATE TBD.

What are the basic building blocks of human relationships? How do people move beyond the surface to discover what stirs the heart of another person? How does that translate into faithful action? Join Joey Ager, Lead Organizer for the Church Council of Greater Seattle, as he shares a fresh perspective on human relationships and engagement. Joey says the heart of organizing is about discovering deep concerns in the lives of those we encounter. From that starting point, people then discover what commonalities exist among them, and how they can translate those into transformative action. For Joey, this kind of organizing is also theological. It is the way God meets and gathers us as God’s people in the world. Come and discover how to practice getting to the heart of the matter. Joey is a native of Scotland, is trained as an organizer with mostly Spanish-speaking Catholic communities, holds a degree in Theology from Oxford University, and writes about the relationship between faith and global humanitarianism.
