7 p.m. Exploring Scripture with 20s and 30s
October 3 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Exploring Scripture with 20s and 30s: Listening for God in Difficult Stories of the Bible
Four Thursday evenings: October 3, 10, 17, & 24, 7–8:30 p.m., Leffler Living Room.
Facilitated by Canon Cristi Chapman. Group limited to 12 participants.
Join with other 20s/30s as we study and interpret some of the challenging stories of scripture. What is challenging for you? What questions do you have for the text and for God? What was God trying to say then and now to us? We will look at a sample of Old Testament and New Testament passages from a variety of perspectives – historical, contextual, theological, and more – and discover how those texts hold meaning for our lives today. No prior experience or familiarity with scripture is required – just bring your curiosity and questions. Attendance at all four sessions is highly encouraged as each week will build on the last.
