Parish Picnic with Blessing of Backpacks & Briefcases

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2024, 12:30–2:30 P.M., on the front lawn and labyrinth

In the last few years, the Parish Picnic has become more and more popular as another way to gather in community and for a back-to-school/back-to-work celebration. This year for the first time, the Parish Picnic will be combined with the other activities of Homecoming Sunday. Don’t miss a delicious picnic lunch of grilled burgers and hot dogs (vegan alternative available), macaroni salad, chips, watermelon, and cookies on the front lawn. The afternoon will also include live Bluegrass music and a Bake Sale to benefit cathedral children and youth programs. (Click here if you can donate an item to the Bake Sale.)

There’s no charge, but please register here as soon as you can, so we know how many people to cook for!

The Parish Picnic also includes a Blessing of Backpacks and Briefcases—all ages are invited to bring their bag for school or work as a way of asking God’s blessing on all our labor in the year to come.
