Reception Celebrating Emily Meeks

SUNDAY, JULY 7:
GUEST SERMON AT 8, 9, & 11 A.M.
RECEPTIONS FOLLOWING THE 9 AND 11 A.M. SERVICES, outside on the front lawn and patio
Saint Mark’s community member, leader, and staff member Emily Meeks is leaving for Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS), and this Sunday, July 7, is her last before moving. She will preach at all morning services, and we will offer our traditional blessing around the baptismal font at the conclusion of the liturgies. A reception in Emily’s honor will occur outside on the front patio following the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
At VTS, Emily will do her coursework toward a Master of Divinity. She is a postulant for ordination in the Diocese of Olympia, with Saint Mark’s Cathedral as her sponsoring parish. Her seminary training is expected to last three years, after which she will return to be ordained to the priesthood and serve in a parish in this diocese.
Parishioners are invited to bring an item for the receptions: sign up to contribute food using this link.
(The 20s/230s Group, which has thrived with Emily’s presence and leadership, will gather for their own send-off at a dessert potluck on Sunday evening.)
