SUMMARY:*Abbey Arts presents: RY X\, with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\nCATHEDRALS: RY X\, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith @ St. Mark’s Cathedral – SEATTLE \nSat 19th Oct 2024\, 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm PDT \n1245 10th Ave E\, Seattle\, WA 98102\, USA \n$32 – $55 USD + BF \n\nEvent description\n\n  \nRY X: www.ry-x.com\n“ GRAMMY-nominated artist and producer\, RY X\, is constantly in pursuit of connection. Connection to nature\, to spirit\, to the human experience – expression and vulnerability is at the core of his work and what he evokes as an artist. He has toured and performed around the world and collaborated with orchestras and establishments like LA Philharmonic and London Philharmonic. He has shared his work at the Nobel Peace Prize\, St. paul’s Cathedral\, and Notre Dame\, scored for the Gothenburg Opera\, and directed visual work over the past 10 years along with writing and producing for other artists like Drake\, Black Coffee\, and Keinemusik. His work is multifaceted\, deeply emotional\, and continually based in a reflection of what it ultimately means to be human\, in its wide range of somatic and emotional experience. Ry engages all forms of artistic expression with his heart at the fore.” – Artist Bio \n\nKAITLYN AURELIA SMITH: kaitlynaureliasmith.com\n“Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith is a classically-trained American composer\, performer\, and producer from the Pacific Northwest. Her music is a form of auditory interpretation\, powered by curiosity and her toolkit of modular\, analogue\, and rare synthesizers (including her signature Buchla)\, orchestral textures\, and voice. Since her first self-releases in 2012\, she has explored the endless possibilities of electronic instruments and the relationship between sound\, shape\, color\, body movement\, and expression. Spanning releases on Western Vinyl\, RVNG Intl.\, Ghostly International\, and her own multidisciplinary project\, Touchtheplants\, her work has drawn acclaim from all reaches of the experimental music world\, including NPR\, The New York Times\, The Wire\, and Rolling Stone. The latter named Smith’s 2017 LP The Kid their avant-garde album of the year. Her collaborations include projects with Danny Elfman\, Emile Mosseri\, Suzanne Ciani\, and commissions for Apple\, BBC Orchestra\, Epcot Center\, Google\, and others. With Let’s Turn It Into Sound\, her latest album on Ghostly\, Smith moves through vibrant avant-pop and neoclassical songcraft\, expressing a feeling that words alone cannot.” – Artist Bio \n@ St Mark’s Cathedral\, Seattle\n6:30p doors\, 7:30p show\nAll ages\, some seating available \nBar w/ ID. Profits to local music & non-profits (thanks to the generosity of our local sponsors) \n  \n————————————————————————– \nCATHEDRALS CONCERTS SERIES\nPRESENTED BY ABBEY ARTS\, SEATTLE\nAn open floor concert experience\, quiet picnics welcome\, no outside alcohol allowed.
