DESCRIPTION:THURSDAY–SATURDAY\, FEBRUARY 13–15\, 2025\, registration required. \nTHURSDAY\, FEBRUARY 13\, 6:30–9 P.M.\nFRIDAY\, FEBRUARY 14\, 6:30–9 P.M.\nSATURDAY\, FEBRUARY 15\, 9 A.M.–4 P.M.\n(additional session Sunday afternoon\, February 16\, if needed)  \nByzantine Iconography is a highly structured and disciplined art form which combines prayer and painting techniques to create serene images of Christ\, Mary\, the angels and the saints following centuries old guidelines. \nPeter Pearson has been studying and painting icons for more than fifty years and teaching others to do so for over half that time. He’s authored three books on the subject and has painted hundreds of icons for churches\, monasteries\, seminaries\, convents\, and individuals all over the world. No previous experience or natural talent is required. We paint\, pray\, and follow the simple step-by-step instructions. Participants will be invited to envision and paint an icon image of Christ (see the color image on the right). \nFee: $450\, includes all supplies and snacks and selected meals across the three days (two evenings\, and Saturday). DESCRIPTION:SATURDAYS\, 9:30 A.M. – 12 P.M\, Skinner Auditorium \nThe meeting is occasionally moved to Bloedel Hall. \nThose unable to attend in-person are also welcome to tune in via Zoom or YouTube livestream. \nSaint Mark’s Cathedral cathedral is the host this meeting of the Clear Mountain Buddhist Monastery community. \nJoin for a morning of meditation\, teaching\, and spiritual conversation over coffee! Each Saturday from 9:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.\, local practitioners gather together in the Saint Mark’s Cathedral Skinner Auditorium (located in the St Nicholas School Building\, just north of the cathedral building\, 1501 10th Ave E.) for a community meditation\, teaching\, and coffee social. \nGatherings begin with a guided sit from 9:30–10 a.m. designed to accommodate and empower a wide variety of practices\, from Buddhist meditation to centering prayer. The morning continues with a Dhamma teaching and Q&A from 10–11 followed by a chance\, for those who want\, to discuss life and practice over coffee from 11–noon.
