DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY\, MAY 3\, 10:30 A.M.–2 P.M.\, advance registration requested \nCathedral Day is a “family reunion” for Episcopalians from across western Washington—a time for connecting across communities\, experiencing your cathedral in a new light… and having a lot of fun. There’s something for everyone—no matter your age! \nA liturgy of Holy Eucharist with the rites of Confirmation\, Reception\, and Reaffirmation for candidates from parishes near and far will begin at 10:30 a.m.\, opening with a grand\, colorful procession of parish banners. \nFollowing the service\, all are invited to enjoy lunch from food trucks and participate in activities for all ages. (Food truck lunch is free with advance registration.) Afternoon activities include face painting\, demonstration of the Mighty Flentrop\, paper airplane launch from the organ loft\, docent-led tour including the crypt\, a walk through the Greenbelt\, and more! \n\n\n\n\nSCHEDULE OF THE DAY \n\n8:30 a.m.: Check-in opens for participants in the liturgy\n9:15 a.m.: Confirmation/Reception/Reaffirmation Rehearsal – Confirmands\, Sponsors\, Clergy\, Church Representatives gather in the nave for rehearsal\, meet with Bishop Phil LaBelle.\n10:10 a.m.: Assemble for Procession – Candidates\, sponsors\, clergy\, and banner holders line up and prepare to process into Saint Mark’s. All congregations attending Cathedral Day are invited to bring their banners and be a part of this procession.\n10:30 a.m.: Confirmation Liturgy – A liturgy of Holy Eucharist with the rites of confirmation\, reception\, and reaffirmation for candidates from parishes near and far will open with a grand\, colorful procession of parish banners.\nFollowing the service: Lunch – Food trucks will be at-the-ready outside the cathedral. DESCRIPTION:SATURDAYS\, 9:30 A.M. – 12 P.M\, Skinner Auditorium \nThe meeting is occasionally moved to Bloedel Hall. \nThose unable to attend in-person are also welcome to tune in via Zoom or YouTube livestream. \nSaint Mark’s Cathedral cathedral is the host this meeting of the Clear Mountain Buddhist Monastery community. \nJoin for a morning of meditation\, teaching\, and spiritual conversation over coffee! Each Saturday from 9:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.\, local practitioners gather together in the Saint Mark’s Cathedral Skinner Auditorium (located in the St Nicholas School Building\, just north of the cathedral building\, 1501 10th Ave E.) for a community meditation\, teaching\, and coffee social. \nGatherings begin with a guided sit from 9:30–10 a.m. designed to accommodate and empower a wide variety of practices\, from Buddhist meditation to centering prayer. The morning continues with a Dhamma teaching and Q&A from 10–11 followed by a chance\, for those who want\, to discuss life and practice over coffee from 11–noon. If they wish\, visitors may also bring a small food offering for the monastic meal. \nMore information about this meeting can be found here.
