SUMMARY:Women's Retreat on the Hood Canal
DESCRIPTION:WOMEN’S RETREAT ON HOOD CANAL—UPDATED DESCRIPTION\nHow We Learn to Be Brave\nFRIDAY–SUNDAY\, MAY 30–JUNE 1\, 2025\, at Sacred Waters Center for Restoration and Retreat in Union\, WA (also known as St. Andrew’s House) \nUPDATE (4/30/25):\nDue to some changes in participants’ schedules\, a few spots have re-opened. One single and a couple of double rooms are now available on a first-come\, first-served basis. Fee: $295 double occupancy\, $325 single; includes two nights lodging and all meals Friday dinner to Sunday lunch. Partial scholarships are available. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your space. Questions? Contact the Rev. Canon Emily Griffin at egriffin@saintmarks.org. \n\n \nSaint Mark’s women will gather at the new Sacred Waters retreat center on the Hood Canal for a weekend of play\, rest\, and spiritual reflection. We’ll base our reflections on Bishop Mariann Budde’s 2023 book How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith. As always\, there will be plenty of time for connecting with new people and deepening existing friendships\, as well as exploring the beautiful setting. Participants will have the opportunity to create art\, try out new spiritual practices\, and share their stories with one another. \nRegistration will open in late February 2025 on a first-come\, first-served basis. Now that St. Andrew’s House and Harmony Hill have combined to form Sacred Waters\, more space is available for our use. We can now accommodate up to 35 people. \nMore information here. Contact the Rev. Canon Emily Griffin at egriffin@saintmarks.org for questions.

SUMMARY:Godly Play
DESCRIPTION:FIRST AND THIRD SUNDAYS OF THE MONTH\, 10–11 A.M.\, in the St Nicholas Building\, 2nd floor \nOn May 4\, there will be an open house of the classrooms instead of a usual lesson. \nOn May 18\, Godly Play participants are encourages to go to Bloedel Hall\, where Canon Griffin will be offering a Godly Play lesson for the whole congregation. \nGodly Play meets as usual on the first and third Sundays June\, June 1 and 15\, and then takes a summer hiatus until September. \nDeveloped over the course of the last 40 years\, Godly Play is a Montessori-informed curriculum and method of exploring the sacred stories and practices of our religious tradition in a way that creates a space for “listening to God with children.” \nRegular Godly Play gatherings for kids age 3 and up are offered on the first and third Sundays of the month in the 10 a.m. hour. Saint Mark’s offers two Godly Play groups: the Weavers’ Class (age 3 to grade 2) and the Fishers’ Class (grades 3 to 5). Meet in the classrooms on the second floor of the St. Nicholas Building. \nContact Canon Barrie with questions: wbarrie@saintmarks.org
