Godly Play is typically presented as offering for children\, but the style of storytelling and the invitation to engage with Scripture or liturgical practices in a more creative\, wonder-filled way can be deeply meaningful for participants of all ages. \nThis monthly series is a great opportunity for those considering the call to become a Godly Play storyteller—see the full announcement below. \nSUNDAY\, JUNE 29 – The Ark and the Flood \nAs we reflect on the symbol of the rainbow this weekend\, we’ll hear this often-misunderstood story a bit differently as it is told with beautiful handmade materials. \nSUNDAY\, JULY 20 – Jesus and the Women \nOn the day we hear the Gospel story of Jesus and the sisters Mary and Martha\, come hear more about them and other women\, named and unnamed\, who came close to Jesus. \nSUNDAY\, AUGUST 31 – The Circle of the Holy Eucharist \nWe’ll wonder together about the parts of our Sunday worship service\, where they come from\, and how they connect to our lives.

DESCRIPTION:LAST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH\, 10:15–10:45 A.M.\, gather in the lower parking lot  \nNOTE: Leader Elli Howard will be moving next month\, so the August 31 hike will be the final opportunity in the current series. \nSaint Mark’s Greenbelt Ministry leader Elli Howard is leading a 30-minute “Liturgical Hike” through the Greenbelt on the last Sunday of every month in the 10 a.m. hour. \nMeet up at the Greenbelt sign in the lower parking lot immediately following the conclusion of the 9 a.m. service\, and walk the parking lot trail loop while accompanied by a simple hymn and a psalm. \nThe trail is improved\, so no hiking gear is needed\, but there are two short sections of stairs.

DESCRIPTION:2025 WOMEN’S COMPLINE CHOIR SERVICES: JUNE 29 AND AUGUST 24 \nSUNDAY\, 9:30 P.M. in the cathedral nave\, livestreamed\, and broadcast \nA beloved Seattle institution since 1956\, the all-male Compline Choir sings the last monastic office of the day every Sunday at 9:30 p.m. \nIn the summer of 2019\, the men of the Compline Choir traveled to the U.K. for two weeks\, serving residencies in Canterbury and Salisbury. To cover the services during absence\, Saint Mark’s Associate Musician Rebekah Gilmore was asked to assemble an all-female choir\, comprising some of the most accomplished choral singers in the Seattle area. The services they sang\, the first all-female services in the 63-year history of Compline at Saint Mark’s\, were deeply moving to many\, and may be heard here. \nThe Women’s Compline Choir now gathers to chant the service several times each year\, usually in the summer.
