She has been a steady pastoral and liturgical presence among us and has assisted with the Women’s Retreat for the last three years. Alison was ordained to the transitional diaconate last December\, recently graduated from the General Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity\, and will be starting as the Curate at Trinity Parish in Seattle on July 1. \nHer last day serving as a transitional Deacon at Saint Mark’s will be Sunday\, June 21. We’ll focus on the first half of the book (through page 84) in our time together on June 14 and the remainder in our time together on June 21. A few hard copies are available in the parish office for a suggested $20 donation. While we highly recommend reading the book in advance\, we’ll provide enough context so that everyone can join us.

We will meet on the lawn near the Seward Park Playground at 3 p.m. From there\, we will head around the Seward Park 2-mile paved and flat loop. The day ends with the traditional root beer floats! All ages and generations are encouraged to join in. Families with children should plan to chaperone their own children around the loop as needed. This facilitated cross-ministry conversation will draw insights from the podcast to reflect on the life and death cycle of bees as a powerful framework and guide for human relationships. The discussion will highlight how working with bees is a labor of love\, full of both joy and grief as it relates to the impact of the climate crisis. Joanna’s pioneering work gives us a framework to sit with\, honor\, and ultimately transform our feelings of grief\, anger\, and overwhelm from the injustices caused by climate change into empowered\, inspired action. DESCRIPTION:SUNDAY\, JUNE 8\, 2025\, 3-4:30 P.M.\, Seward Park\, Lake Washington Blvd. S.\, Seattle \nCalling all bikers\, scooters\, walkers\, rollerbladers\, runners\, unicycles and so forth to join in a Pentecost Sunday Ride/Run/Roll around Seward Park in Southeast Seattle. We will meet on the lawn near the Seward Park Playground at 3 p.m. From there\, we will head around the Seward Park 2-mile paved and flat loop. The day ends with the traditional root beer floats! All ages and generations are encouraged to join in. Families with children should plan to chaperone their own children around the loop as needed.
