Pastor Mary Lindberg believes in the power of the pen as a spiritual tool. She serves as a Spiritual Director and leads writing groups\, particularly with underserved groups\, using the supportive Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) method. Mary has published books for adults and children. \nRegistration required  for in-person or online participation (register to receive Zoom link). SUMMARY:Cathedral Commons—Prophet of Justice\, Prophet of Life
DESCRIPTION:Join our curate\, the Rev. Adam Conley for an introduction to the life\, writings\, and prophetic witness of William Stringfellow. Stringfellow was a civil rights lawyer and lay Episcopalian who called the church to action in the 1960s and 1970s in the face of historic injustices. This 20th century Christian prophet has piercing words of moral clarity to speak directly to our present day. Come gain insights into Stringfellow’s insistence that the church’s commitment to social justice must always remain rooted in the Word of God and the corporate worship of the church. \nProgram is free; no registration required. Optional community dinner at 6 p.m. ($8/adult; $25/family max.) \n\nForum Recording\n📽️ Download presentation slides

SUMMARY:Cathedral Commons—The Art & Craft of God's Praise: Hidden Life of Pipe Organs
DESCRIPTION:This two-part forum on May 13 and 20 will be like that dissection lab in high school in which you got an unforgettable glimpse into a small creature’s inner workings and learned how they are manifest on a larger scale in your own body. Here\, guided by Canon Kleinschmidt\, you will get to participate in taking apart and reassembling a miniature pipe organ! Equipped with insights gained through that unusual experience\, you will then be introduced to the art\, science\, and history of organ building on a cathedral-sized scale. Why do pipe organs sound the way they do? Why do they look the way they do? Why\, for centuries\, have human beings found them useful in acts of public worship? Why might an instrument with such ancient origins be relevant to us today\, and to all those who will come after us? Come and see! \nThe forum on May 13 will not be available via Zoom; we will share a brief video of Canon Kleinschmidt with the miniature pipe organ before the forum on May 20 for those who can’t join in person for the first session. \n🔗 Zoom link for May 20 \nProgram is free; no registration required. Optional community dinner at 6 p.m. ($8/adult; $25/family max.)

SUMMARY:2026 Women's Retreat
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION NOW OPEN \n2026 Women’s Retreat — “Seasons of Life and the Poetry of Denise Levertov”\nFRIDAY–SUNDAY\, MAY 15-17\, 2026\, at Sacred Waters Center for Restoration and Retreat in Union\, WA\n➡️ REGISTRATION NOW OPEN \nLed by the Rev. Canon Emily Griffin \nThere are seasons to our relationships – with God\, each other\, and the world around us. It is a challenge to be fully present in whatever season we’re facing and to remember that it too will pass. We will gather again at the Sacred Waters retreat center on the Hood Canal (formerly St. Andrew’s House) for a weekend of rest and reflection on this theme. We’ll base our conversations on Denise Levertov’s Selected Poems (2002). Specific poems will be identified for participants in advance. As always\, there will be plenty of time for connecting with new people and deepening existing friendships\, as well as exploring the beautiful setting. \nRegistration is now open\, on a first-come\, first-served basis. Due to increased expenses at Sacred Waters as well as increased demand for their spaces\, we are only using a portion of the campus – so space is limited. Priority will be given in the first 24 hours to those who could not attend last year. \nFee: $330 for single or double occupancy; includes two nights lodging and all meals Friday dinner to Sunday lunch. Partial scholarships are available. A $100 non-refundable deposit will be required to hold your space. \n🔗 Register today \nQuestions? Contact the Rev. Canon Emily Griffin at egriffin@saintmarks.org.
