SUMMARY:NYE Labyrinth Walk with Midnight Eucharist
DESCRIPTION:Midnight Eucharist at the center of the labyrinth\, observing the Feast of the Holy Name. \n \nAs the old year passes and a new one begins\, take time in the quiet\, candle-lit space of the cathedral nave to pause\, look inward\, and experience walking a labyrinth. Musical accompaniment will be provided by guest musicians throughout the evening. At the stroke of midnight\, an intimate service of Holy Eucharist is offered in the center of the labyrinth\, observing the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus. All are welcome; freewill donations gratefully received.

The Book of Job isn’t an answer to the problem of evil so much as it is a portrait of a human sufferer in relationship to God. SUMMARY:Godly Play
DESCRIPTION:Between services on Sunday mornings\, we create space for children to deeply experience the texts and stories of the Bible that make us Christian people and form our faith. Classes are open to children in preschool through fifth grade and offer children the opportunity to grow in community with each other and caring adults. \nOn February 14\, the classes will wonder together about the Parable of the Great Pearl in a combined class. \nGodly Play is a Montessori-based curriculum that recognizes that children are already in relationship with God. It invites them to wonder deeply about the core stories of scripture and imaginatively explore our liturgical traditions as it gives them practice in speaking the language of our Christian faith. \nLearn more and register your child here.

DESCRIPTION:Children’s Chapel is offered each Sunday at the 9 a.m. service. Children in preschool through second grade are invited to join the Gospel procession around the Deacon as the Gospel is proclaimed. Then they process to Thomsen Chapel for the Gospel story in a developmentally appropriate telling\, singing\, and prayer. They return to their families at the Peace. Younger children may attend accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Canon Emily Griffin \n \nFor almost fifty years\, Wendell Berry wrote poems about the Sabbath or\, in his words\, “moments when heart and mind are open and aware.” How do we notice all we have been given and respond with fidelity and gratitude? We will practice the spiritual art of awareness by reflecting individually and collectively on selected poems from this extensive body of work.
