It will them meet on November 17 as usual. \nDeveloped over the course of the last 40 years\, Godly Play is a Montessori-informed curriculum and method of exploring the sacred stories and practices of our religious tradition in a way that creates a space for “listening to God with children.” \nRegular Godly Play gatherings for kids age 3 and up are offered on the first and third Sundays of the month in the 10 a.m. hour. Saint Mark’s offers two Godly Play groups: the Weavers’ Class (age 3 to grade 2) and the Fishers’ Class (grades 3 to 5). Each Saturday from 9:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.\, local practitioners gather together in the Saint Mark’s Cathedral Skinner Auditorium (located in the St Nicholas School Building\, just north of the cathedral building\, 1501 10th Ave E.) for a community meditation\, teaching\, and coffee social. \nGatherings begin with a guided sit from 9:30–10 a.m. designed to accommodate and empower a wide variety of practices\, from Buddhist meditation to centering prayer. The morning continues with a Dhamma teaching and Q&A from 10–11 followed by a chance\, for those who want\, to discuss life and practice over coffee from 11–noon. Each Saturday from 9:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.\, local practitioners gather together in the Saint Mark’s Cathedral Skinner Auditorium (located in the St Nicholas School Building\, just north of the cathedral building\, 1501 10th Ave E.) for a community meditation\, teaching\, and coffee social. \nGatherings begin with a guided sit from 9:30–10 a.m. designed to accommodate and empower a wide variety of practices\, from Buddhist meditation to centering prayer. The morning continues with a Dhamma teaching and Q&A from 10–11 followed by a chance\, for those who want\, to discuss life and practice over coffee from 11–noon. DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY\, SEPTEMBER 23\, 8 A.M. TO 6 P.M.\, cathedral nave \n \nCome support Saint Mark’s Evensong Choir in their efforts to raise $35\,000 in scholarship funds for their Pilgrimage to England next August\, where they will serve as Choir-in-Residence for one week each at Lincoln and Durham Cathedrals. On Saturday\, November 23\, they will sing all 720 hymns between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (one verse per hymn.) \nStop by and join in singing or listen and watch for as long as you like. Get three friends and family to sponsor you for a dollar per hymn and sing 100 of them. It would take about one hour and you will have raised $300 for the choir pilgrimage! There are many ways to participate and you may learn all about them at the Hymnathon table in the back of the nave during coffee hour on Sundays November 10 and 17.
