SUMMARY:QuiC Lenten Journey: Following in the Way of the Cross
DESCRIPTION:QuiC Lenten Journey: Following in the Way of the Cross\nTUESDAY\, FEBRUARY 24\, 7 P.M. and Weekly throughout Lent\nThis Lent\, QuiC will journey through the Way of the Cross by reflecting on how Christ’s path speaks to the queer experience—our courage\, our wounds\, our resilience\, and our hope. Each week we’ll explore one or more stations from the Scriptural Stations of the Cross alongside moments from our own stories\, discovering how Jesus’ walk toward liberation and love mirrors the sacred work of living authentically as LGBTQIA+ people. Together we’ll hold space for lament\, resistance\, joy\, and transformation as we follow Christ on the way that leads to new life. \nFor this series\, we will be using the artwork by Kreg Yingst. You can purchase your own copy of Kreg’s beautiful Way of the Cross book on Etsy. \n🔗Email queerinchrist@saintmarks.org for the meeting link

SUMMARY:Contemplative Prayer
DESCRIPTION:MOST TUESDAYS\, 7–8 P.M.\, in the cathedral nave \nNOTE: Contemplative Prayer is suspended when the monthly Taizé service is offered in the nave instead. Contemplative Prayer is also occasionally suspended or relocated on other Tuesdays due to other events and conflicts in the nave.  \n \nTuesday evening Contemplative Prayer gatherings begin with a period of silent meditation\, followed by discussions on a variety of contemplative practices including Centering Prayer \nThis time of meditative prayer is open to anyone who yearns for a time to simply sit in the presence of the Divine—whether you sit regularly and miss doing it with others\, are curious\, or think you can’t do it\, come\, sit together and talk about it. There is no doing it right or wrong; there is only doing it. Read more here. \nThese sessions will be led by Phil Fox Rose\, who was introduced to centering prayer by Cynthia Bourgeault in the early 90s and has been practicing and sharing it ever since. SUMMARY:Sunday Forum: West Bank Realities with Filmmaker David Wild
DESCRIPTION:SUNDAY\, MARCH 1\, 10:10 A.M. in Bloedel Hall \nModerated by Dean Thomason \nThe Holy Land is complicated\, and peace seems so far off. Yet anyone who visits is captivated by the people and place. David Wild says: “After years of watching films and reading about the situation in Israel/Palestine\, I decided to visit on my own. It was a surprising trip — I met remarkable people and was by myself at the Holy Sites. Being a filmmaker\, I had to make something\, and I came back with a message for my friends in the form of a 12-minute film. The trip inspired me and changed my life.” We will then have a conversation\, sharing our hopes and sorrows for the people who call this place home. All are welcome. \nNote: Dean Thomason is planning a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 2027 if conditions on the ground allow\, and he will share more about that during the forum.

SUMMARY:Godly Play
DESCRIPTION:FIRST AND THIRD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH\, SEPTEMBER–JUNE (except in November 2025 and April 2026\, when it will meet on the second and third Sundays)\, 10–11 A.M.\, in the Godly Play classrooms on the 2nd floor of the St. Nicholas Bldg.  \nBetween services on Sunday mornings\, we create space for children from preschool through elementary school (age 3 up to 5th grade) to deeply experience the texts and stories of the Bible that make us Christian people and form our faith\, and also to grow in community with each other and caring adults. Using steadfastly non-digital modalities\, we tell the stories and then make space for the children to make the stories their own for life by using the materials or art to expand\, retell\, and experience the stories in their own ways. For example\, it’s magical to watch children self-organize to collectively create a “crucifixion and Easter scape” by finding and arranging materials from the room to arrange in a box of sand to exemplify all of Holy Week! We use the Godly Play curriculum. Class sessions are held generally on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month during the school year. \nLearn more and find a complete schedule and registration link here. \n\nParents and Toddlers Room\nWhenever Godly Play is being offered on Sunday morning on the second floor of the St Nicholas Bldg\, the Parents and Toddlers Room is open and available at the same time on the first floor. This is for kids under three\, and parents must remain with their children. A room host (with Safe Church training) is on hand to welcome you and your little one\, along with age appropriate toys and books\, a carpet for crawlers\, and a table and chairs. Please contact Canon Barrie for more information or to help support this ministry: wbarrie@saintmarks.org

SUMMARY:Cathedral Commons—Finding Portals into God’s Story
DESCRIPTION:WEDNESDAY\, FEBRUARY 25\, 2026\, 6:45–8:15 P.M.\, in person in Bloedel Hall or online via Zoom.  \n \nFinding Portals into God’s Story—The Bible and Why We Read It (Especially) Today\nFacilitated by Dean Thomason — All are welcome\, even if you aren’t participating in the Contours of the Christian Life process \n“In Scripture\, God has uttered for us\, not the last word but the first—a word designed to set us off on pilgrimage\, in pursuit of that life that God has willed for us to have.” (Wm. Countryman). As the opening foray into our Contours of the Christian Life series\, Dean Thomason will offer some insights into prevailing themes\, trajectories\, and grounding theology found in our Scriptures\, while those gathered reflect together on our questions: Why do we read these ancient books still? Through what lenses of interpretation do we read them? What do they have to say to us in our time? What can we learn from Scripture about who God is and who we are as God’s people? All are welcome to join\, either in Bloedel or on Zoom. \n🔗 Zoom link  \nProgram is free; optional community dinner at 6 p.m. ($8/adult; $25/family max.)
