SUMMARY:*Abbey Arts presents: Ayla Nereo\, Youssoupha Sidibe
DESCRIPTION:Sat\, Oct 11\, 7:30pm – 10:30pm PDT \nGet Tickets Here\n\n\n\n\n\nAyla Nereo: aylanereo.com\n+ special guest Youssoupha Sidibe \nImagine is honored to produce an evening of soul-stirring magic as Ayla Nereo graces the majestic St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle for a special concert experience\, produced by Imagine Music & Arts Festival. Surrounded by the cathedral’s soaring architecture and sacred acoustics\, Ayla’s ethereal voice and poetic lyrics will echo through the heart\, weaving together sound\, spirit\, and ceremony. This is more than a concert—it’s a reverent gathering of music and intention in one of the city’s most awe-inspiring spaces. Join us for a night of beauty\, resonance\, and transformation. \nProduced in collaboration with Abbey Arts \n“Ayla Nereo is a creature of the forests and rivers\, a dancer between the timeless and modern\, a musician and poet weaving forth a magical and emotional world of sonic beauty. Lyrical meditations and riddles of anguage dance into wondrous tapestries of song and story\, from energetic electronic rhythms and disco ballads to celtic melodies and ethereal mantras. With an uncanny ability to crack open the heart\, Ayla’s songs are an ode to the beauty of being human\, inviting us deeper into the exquisite and innately psychedelic dream of this moment.” \nYoussoupha Sidibe\nYoussoupha Sidibe is a Senegalese West African Kora (African Harp) player. Throw out all your ideas of what a harpist is\, Youssoupha breaks out of traditional Kora styles many hundreds of years old\, to create a new style that has never been heard before\, blending aspects of Reggae and western music. \nThrough many collaborations\, and countless performances over the course of 25 years\, Youssoupha has developed thousands of fans all over the world. SUMMARY:*Abbey Arts presents: Josh Ritter
DESCRIPTION:Fri\, Oct 10\, 7:30pm – 10pm PDT\nGET TICKETS HERE\nSaint Mark’s Cathedral \nSeattle WA\, United States \nEvent description\nJosh Ritter: www.joshritter.com\n(Solo Acoustic Set)\n“Harking back to Bob Dylan\, Bruce Springsteen and maybe a little Mark Knopfler\, Mr. Ritter has always been a slinger of serious ideas and high-flown imagery.”\n—The New York Times \n“Josh Ritter is a renowned singer\, songwriter\, musician\, artist and best-selling author. One of today’s most thoughtful and prolific voices\, he has released eleven studio albums including 2019’s widely acclaimed ‘Fever Breaks’ of which NPR Music praised\, “He remains a hydrant of ideas while embodying an endless capacity for empathy and indignation\, often within a single song.” \nHis twelfth studio album ‘I Believe in You\, My Honeydew’ will be out 9/12/25. New songs “You Won’t Dig My Grave” and “Truth is a Dimension (Both Invisible and Blinding)” from the forthcoming record are out now. Two-plus decades into his celebrated career\, Ritter has written music that has transcended generations including luminaries such as Bob Dylan\, Joan Baez\, and Bob Weir covering his songs. \nIn addition to his work as a musician\, Ritter is also a national best-selling author\, having released two novels to date: 2021’s The Great Glorious Goddamn of It All and 2011’s Bright’s Passage. Released to critical attention\, Stephen King wrote in The New York Times Book Review that Bright’s Passage “shines with a compressed lyricism that recalls Ray Bradbury in his prime…This is the work of a gifted novelist.” \n“Josh Ritter remains at the top of his game two decades into a highlight-strewn career. He’d be forgiven for loosening his grip\, but his hand has never felt surer.”\n—NPR Music \n\n“Mysterious\, melancholy\, melodic…and those are only the M’s.”\n—Stephen King in Entertainment Weekly\n\nSt Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral\, Seattle \n6:30p doors\, 7:30p show \nAll ages\, mostly seated (padded chairs\, benches)\, floor space up front \nBar w/ ID. Canon Emily Griffin \n \nThresholds are places for entering and leaving—for moving from one kind of space or time to another. We make these kinds of transitions throughout our lives but often don’t know how to prepare for them\, mark them\, or discern the shape of our lives in light of them. In this session\, we will share tools for narrating our own life stories and explore how our shared story as Christians helps us make meaning of our endings that are also new beginnings. Learn more here. \nJoin using this Zoom link \nProgram is free; optional community dinner at 6 p.m. ($8/adult; $25/family max.)
