DESCRIPTION:WEDNESDAY\, MAY 6 & SATURDAY\, JUNE 20\n10 A.M. – NOON at Volunteer Park (registration required)\nIn early observance of Rogation Days\, the parish will offer two Spring Nature Therapy Walks in Volunteer Park. These will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on May 6 (in observance of Rogation Days) and on June 20 (the Eve of the Summer Solstice). The purpose of the walk is to slow down\, open our senses\, and enjoy the beauty and healing that nature has to offer. Everyone is welcome\, no experience is necessary\, and we will walk at a slow\, gentle pace. \nThe walks will be led by Dan Stroh\, a certified forest therapy guide\, in cooperation with Ancient Earth Outings. \nThere is no cost\, but space is limited\, so registration is required. \nFor more information\, you may contact Canon Rich at rweyls@saintmarks.org.

The morning continues with a Dhamma teaching and Q&A from 10–11 followed by a chance\, for those who want\, to discuss life and practice over coffee from 11–noon. Fellowship and a community breakfast follow the service. \nUPDATE: The regular Thursday morning attendees have decided that their online service on the second and fourth Sundays of the month should merge with the online Daily Morning Prayer Group. On those Thursdays when there is not an in-person Eucharist\, gather online at 7:30 (rather than 7) using the normal Daily Office link. DESCRIPTION:Before Dean Steve left on sabbatical\, he asked the staff and vestry\, as well as the cathedral parish as a whole\, to read and discuss Joan Chittister’s For Everything a Season. As the staff and vestry reflect upon the seasons of our communal life\, it’s now time to open the circle wider. \nJoin Canon Emily Griffin and Senior Warden Julia Logan for either or both sessions as we explore how an understanding of the seasons of life—informed by Ecclesiastes 3—can impact both our personal and communal lives. We’ll focus on the first half of the book (through page 84) in our time together on June 14 and the remainder in our time together on June 21. A few hard copies are available in the parish office for a suggested $20 donation. While we highly recommend reading the book in advance\, we’ll provide enough context so that everyone can join us.

DESCRIPTION:SATURDAYS\, 9:30 A.M. – 12 P.M\, Skinner Auditorium \nThe meeting is occasionally moved to Bloedel Hall. \nThose unable to attend in-person are also welcome to tune in via Zoom or YouTube livestream. \nSaint Mark’s Cathedral cathedral is the host this meeting of the Clear Mountain Buddhist Monastery community. \nJoin for a morning of meditation\, teaching\, and spiritual conversation over coffee! Each Saturday from 9:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.\, local practitioners gather together in the Saint Mark’s Cathedral Skinner Auditorium (located in the St Nicholas School Building\, just north of the cathedral building\, 1501 10th Ave E.) for a community meditation\, teaching\, and coffee social. \nGatherings begin with a guided sit from 9:30–10 a.m. designed to accommodate and empower a wide variety of practices\, from Buddhist meditation to centering prayer. The morning continues with a Dhamma teaching and Q&A from 10–11 followed by a chance\, for those who want\, to discuss life and practice over coffee from 11–noon. SUMMARY:Anti-Racism Training
DESCRIPTION:Canon Carla Robinson\, Diocesan Canon for Multicultural Ministries and Community Transformation\, will lead this one day training experience which is based on “Seeing the Face of God in Each Other: The Antiracism Training Manual of the Episcopal Church.” We will begin with the conviction\, grounded in the Baptismal Covenant\, that we are all children of God who still bear the image of God. From there we will learn (or refresh our learning) about the history and teachings of the Episcopal Church regarding race and racism. \nParticipants will analyze the dynamics of power and oppression so that they can engage in the visioning of an alternate reality for the church and society. That vision for us is the creation of the Beloved Community. As we are always in a state of becoming\, this training seeks to help us move along the path of dismantling racism.
