SUMMARY:*Abbey Arts presents: Madison Cunnigham
DESCRIPTION:Madison Cunningham @ ST. MARK’S CATHEDRAL\nSat\, Jan 10 2026\, 7:30pm – 10pm PST\n\n\nGET TICKETS HERE\n\n\n\n\nEvent description\n\nMadison Cunningham: The Ace Tour madisoncunningham.com\nDepending on the game\, an Ace can be the highest or lowest card\, zero or infinity. A breakup feels similar—one path crumbles\, while all others remain infinitely possible. How do you write about heartbreak when you’re going through it? Ace\, GRAMMY award-winner Madison Cunningham’s third record for Verve Forecast\, tracks every part of it: falling out of love\, having your heart broken\, and then falling in love again. Co-produced by Cunningham and Robbie Lackritz (Feist\, Rilo Kiley\, Bahamas\, Peach Pit)\, the fourteen-track album is honest and full of heart\, even as it breaks. \nAce builds off of the success of Revealer (2022)\, a darkly funny portrait of an artist that won Cunningham her GRAMMY for “Best Folk Album\,” but it is a different record. A slow burn until it wasn’t. It follows a period of writer’s block. On Revealer and her debut album Who Are You Now (2019)\, Cunningham says that she was writing songs about heartbreak\, but they weren’t about her heartbreak. They were sketches\, observations. Cunningham wanted Ace to be emotions first. Heartbreaking and lush and bold. \nCunningham’s first single from Ace\, “My Full Name\,” was released to praise by PASTE who calls the lyrics\, “simultaneously sprawling and intimate\,” recalling “an ancient work of poetry.” On Ace\, which Cunningham serves as co-producer\, she wanted piano to move into the foreground. “I wanted it to feel like a mountain peak\,” says Cunningham\, “I wanted Ace to feel like a mountain we built together.” Ace is a record that feels alive and lush in all the ways Cunningham hoped for when she started writing. It is a record of mastery and honesty. Cunningham loves every single song on it. You can tell. \n  \n@ St Mark’s Cathedral\, Seattle\n6:30p doors\, 7:30p show\nAll ages\, mostly seated main floor & balcony\, some standing room in back \nBar w/ ID. Profits to local music & non-profits (thanks to the generosity of our local sponsors) \n  \n————————————————————————– \nCATHEDRALS CONCERTS SERIES\nPRESENTED BY ABBEY ARTS\, SEATTLE\nAn open floor concert experience\, quiet picnics welcome\, no outside alcohol allowed. One of today’s most thoughtful and prolific voices\, he has released eleven studio albums including 2019’s widely acclaimed ‘Fever Breaks’ of which NPR Music praised\, “He remains a hydrant of ideas while embodying an endless capacity for empathy and indignation\, often within a single song.” \nHis twelfth studio album ‘I Believe in You\, My Honeydew’ will be out 9/12/25. DESCRIPTION:@ St Mark’s Cathedral\, Seattle\n6:30p doors\, 7:30p show\nGET TICKET HERE\nAll ages\, some seating available (GA & Reserved) \nSelect a Floor ticket for reserved space for a yoga mat size area (byo blanket/cushion/pillow) \nQuiet picnics welcome\, no alcohol\nElixir Bar available in the lobby \nEvent description\n\nEast Forest: www.eastforest.org\nSince 2008\, East Forest has used music to guide listeners through modern journeys of deep introspection. The electro-acoustic project has remained primarily a solo effort (of Krishna-Trevor Oswalt)\, straddling the worlds of ambient\, neoclassical\, electronic and indie-pop.  \nWhether via his Music For Mushrooms: A Soundtrack For The Psychedelic Practitioner album series\, his collaborative spoken word album with Ram Dass\, or one of his communal “Ceremony Concerts\,” East Forest’s goal has always been “building bridges and creating an approach that’s grounded\, embodied\, unarguable and for everybody.” \nHis latest album Music For The Deck of The Titanic is an homage to the infamous ship’s musicians who spent their last hours playing songs for passengers. Beautiful\, poignant and extremely human\, it’s a reprieve in a fast-moving world\, built around an acoustic backbone of live drums\, stand-up bass\, earnest vocals and intimate piano. \nThe most collaborative effort from East Forest so far\, the LP features Senegalese singer Marieme\, drummer Jens Kuross (RY X\, The Acid) and cellist/bassist Owen Hofmann-Smith. From the thoughtful and rhythmic repose of “Clay Steps” to the emotional atmospheres of “Tangled\,” the house-driven “Currents” with Brazilian techno producer ANNA\, the contemplative ballad “Birds Eye” and the raunchy-wisdom of single “So What?” with comedian Duncan Trussell\, Music For The Deck of The Titanic crafts a true journey of mood. Its 11 tracks are a culmination of a life spent exploring and meditating on music as a connective narrative\, and a contemporary musical reminder that we can at any moment return to our humanity without falling behind. – Artist Bio

Connection to nature\, to spirit\, to the human experience – expression and vulnerability is at the core of his work and what he evokes as an artist. He has toured and performed around the world and collaborated with orchestras and establishments like LA Philharmonic and London Philharmonic. He has shared his work at the Nobel Peace Prize\, St. paul’s Cathedral\, and Notre Dame\, scored for the Gothenburg Opera\, and directed visual work over the past 10 years along with writing and producing for other artists like Drake\, Black Coffee\, and Keinemusik. Ry engages all forms of artistic expression with his heart at the fore.” – Artist Bio \n\nKAITLYN AURELIA SMITH: kaitlynaureliasmith.com\n“Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith is a classically-trained American composer\, performer\, and producer from the Pacific Northwest. Her music is a form of auditory interpretation\, powered by curiosity and her toolkit of modular\, analogue\, and rare synthesizers (including her signature Buchla)\, orchestral textures\, and voice. Since her first self-releases in 2012\, she has explored the endless possibilities of electronic instruments and the relationship between sound\, shape\, color\, body movement\, and expression. Spanning releases on Western Vinyl\, RVNG Intl.\, Ghostly International\, and her own multidisciplinary project\, Touchtheplants\, her work has drawn acclaim from all reaches of the experimental music world\, including NPR\, The New York Times\, The Wire\, and Rolling Stone. The latter named Smith’s 2017 LP The Kid their avant-garde album of the year. Her collaborations include projects with Danny Elfman\, Emile Mosseri\, Suzanne Ciani\, and commissions for Apple\, BBC Orchestra\, Epcot Center\, Google\, and others. With Let’s Turn It Into Sound\, her latest album on Ghostly\, Smith moves through vibrant avant-pop and neoclassical songcraft\, expressing a feeling that words alone cannot.” – Artist Bio \n@ St Mark’s Cathedral\, Seattle\n6:30p doors\, 7:30p show\nAll ages\, some seating available \nBar w/ ID. Profits to local music & non-profits (thanks to the generosity of our local sponsors) \n  \n————————————————————————– \nCATHEDRALS CONCERTS SERIES\nPRESENTED BY ABBEY ARTS\, SEATTLE\nAn open floor concert experience\, quiet picnics welcome\, no outside alcohol allowed. SUMMARY:*Abbey Arts presents: Haley Heynderickx\, with Chamberlain / Gonzalez
DESCRIPTION:CATHEDRALS: Haley Heynderickx\, Chamberlain / Gonzalez @ St. Mark’s Cathedral – SEATTLE \nFri 11th Oct 2024\, 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm PDT \n1245 10th Ave E\, Seattle\, WA 98102\, USA \n$22 – $35 USD + BF \nEvent description\n\nHALEY HEYNDERICKX: www.haley-heynderickx.com\n“ It takes a mix of skill and luck to tend a garden well\, but it’s impossible without a certain amount of kindness tended. While the cyclical nature of gardening seems inherent\, in some ways\, Heynderickx is just beginning. Her debut album\, named I Need to Start a Garden out of a search for calm through these waves of uncertainty and upheaval\, is out now via Mama Bird Recording Co. For the empathetic singer/songwriter\, the reasons for seeking such acceptance and understanding stem from a life of paradoxes. \nHeynderickx grew up in a religious household in Oregon\, closely identifying with her Filipino roots\, but also straddling multiple cultural identities. Now residing in Portland\, her faith is not overt\, but her introspection and continued struggle for self-actualization are easily accessible and relatable. Likewise\, the tracks on I Need to Start a Garden reflect these seemingly disparate elements. Because the beauty of a garden is that\, while it’s often started for deeply personal reasons\, its bounty is best consumed and shared with others.” – Artist Bio \n \nCHAMBERLAIN / GONZALEZ: https://chamberlaingonzalez.bandcamp.com/album/gonzolain\nEliot Chamberlain and Soliana Gonzalez have been writing songs\, harmonizing and performing together in Portland since March 2020. They could be described as a folk duo – though their music draws from a wide array of traditions and inspirations. Soli grew up climbing trees in N.Y. state\, singing with her sisters\, making art and falling in love with early folk\, rock and the latin music of her Colombian heritage. Meanwhile\, Eliot is your classic West Coast bluegrass banjo player turned psychedelic rock guitarist and songwriter\, moving from Santa Cruz to Portland in 2013. With their distinct backgrounds\, geographical origins and styles\, it’s almost uncanny how well their voices and musical sensibilities blend. \nChamberlain / Gonzalez  released their sophomore album “Gonzolain” on 6/21/24. The songs were recorded mostly live in their basement and in Blue Room studios with the brilliant guidance and expertise of Mike Coykendall. For this album\, as for their first\, their aim is to make music that is somehow honest and responsive to our current time. \nChamberlain / Gonzalez features vocal harmonies\, original compositions\, acoustic guitar and fingerpicking; they draw inspiration from many genres of music including: early English folk\, americana roots\, blues\, jazz\, latin\, protest\, 60/70s\, world music\, etc.” \n\n@ St Mark’s Cathedral\, Seattle\n6:30p doors\, 7:30p show\nAll ages\, some seating available \nBar w/ ID. Profits to local music & non-profits (thanks to the generosity of our local sponsors) \n  \n————————————————————————– \nCATHEDRALS CONCERTS SERIES\nPRESENTED BY ABBEY ARTS\, SEATTLE\nAn open floor concert experience\, quiet picnics welcome\, no outside alcohol allowed.
