Following the service\, animals can receive an individual blessing from a priest if desired. All are invited to attend\, with or without their animal companions. Stuffed animals are also welcome to be blessed\, as are photographs of pets who would not find attending the event a blessed experience. Animals should remain leashed or kenneled. You are welcome to bring your own chair to use on the lawn\, although chairs will also be provided.

SUMMARY:*Gathering Ground: Summer Solstice Labyrinth Walks
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, June 21\, 2023\, 7–9 P.M. \nJoin a playful outdoor event celebrating the longest day of the year with this ancient practice to reflect and center. It’s our fourth annual Summer Solstice Labyrinth Walk! This family friendly event features multiple labyrinths\, along with stations for chalk art and crafting your own finger labyrinth to take home. New this year\, the evening culminates in the chance to join a simple circle dance at 8:40pm. In this time of complexity and frustration\, they are a powerful tool to process challenges and find intention\, clarity\, and even joy. \nThe event will be open-house style: drop in when it works for you. \nAccess and COVID notes: A walker-friendly labyrinth will be offered. All six labyrinths are available without steps. Four are on pavement. Masks are optional for this outdoor event. To accommodate those with vulnerabilities\, we will offer the option for others on your labyrinth to be masked. Please contact us about other accommodations. \nContributions are warmly welcomed to meet our program expenses\, which are about $20/person. Everyone is welcome to join in at whatever level is right for you: we all make this happen together! Gifts for this event will be shared with Saint Mark’s Cathedral. \nParking and Transportation: There is limited\, paid parking at Saint Mark’s. It’s also on the #49 bus line. Please note there are NO restrooms: plan accordingly! \nEvent Partners: Saint Mark’s Cathedral and the Western Washington Labyrinth Network. \nEvent Sponsor: Kairos Productions\, a Seattle-based film production company dedicated to the creation of vibrant\, idiosyncratic celebrations of life through filmmaking. \nVolunteer to help host. It’s fun & you’ll meet cool folks. Contact Faith at GatherinGround.Seattle@gmail.com or call 206-880-3641. \nRSVP HERE

SUMMARY:St Francis Day Celebration with Blessing of the Animals
DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY\, OCTOBER 1\, 2022\, 4:30 P.M.\, on the outdoor labyrinth and front lawn \nOn Saturday\, October 1\, Saint Mark’s will once again offer its beloved Saint Francis Day tradition. A few years ago this offering was moved from Sunday morning to Saturday afternoon\, and the outdoor celebration has a truly festive community atmosphere. Dogs\, cats\, bird\, bunnies\, ponies\, chickens\, and all creatures great and small are welcome! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMusic will be offered by acclaimed Seattle musician James Falzone and the young choristers of Choir School. The service will include prayers for healing humanity’s relationship with the earth\, and for all the creatures who share the earth with us. Following the service\, animals can receive an individual blessing from a priest if desired. \nAll are invited to attend\, with or without their animal companions. Stuffed animals are also welcome to be blessed\, as are photographs of pets who would not find attending the event a blessed experience. \nAnimals should remain leashed or kenneled. You are welcome to bring your own chair to use on the lawn\, although chairs will also be provided. \nSee material from previous years here.

SUMMARY:*Summer Solstice Labyrinth Walk (Gathering Ground)
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, June 21\, 2022\n7:00 PM  9:00 PM\nSaint Mark’s Cathedral (map)\n\n\nA simple\, meaningful community event will honor the wisdom of cycles on the longest day of the year. It’s our third annual Summer Solstice Labyrinth Walk! This event features multiple labyrinths\, each focusing on different cycles of the earth and justice-making\, along with stations for chalk art and crafting your own finger labyrinth to take home. RSVP below or walk up that night. \nLabyrinths are a simple reflection form that allows the walker to journey inward to their truth\, then outward into the world. They offer a single route in and out: no getting lost. In this time of complexity and frustration\, they are a powerful tool to process challenges and find intention\, clarity\, and even joy. \nThe event will be open-house style: drop in when it works for you. Please plan to mask while walking labyrinths or waiting in line. Access: A walker-friendly labyrinth will be offered. 6 of the 7 labyrinths require no steps to access. Please contact us about other accommodations! \nFree to attend. Contributions welcome. \nThere is limited parking at Saint Mark’s. It’s also on the #49 bus line. \nWe are delighted to announce that this event is sponsored by Kairos Productions\, a Seattle-based film production company dedicated to the creation of vibrant\, idiosyncratic celebrations of life through filmmaking. We also thank Saint Mark’s Cathedral and the Western Washington Labyrinth Network for their partnership in making this event possible. \nIf you would like to volunteer to help host please email Rene at GatherinGround.Seattle@gmail.com or call 206-880-3641. \nRSVP

Following the service\, all are invited to have lunch from food trucks and participate in activities for all ages. This year’s festivities will include Jerusalem Greer from the office of the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church\, who will lead a workshop and a prayer walk. \nFood truck lunch is free with advance registration.
