DESCRIPTION:Led by the Rev. Canon Emily Griffin and Joy Studer\, Licensed Godly Play Trainers \nThrough a collaboration between the Diocese of Olympia and Saint Mark’s Cathedral\, we are pleased to offer a day of workshops for all: those who are new to this methodology and those who have been practicing for a long time. Join us for a day of learning\, community building\, and sharing best practices. After a full Godly Play session together\, we’ll offer an introductory track for new storytellers and doorpersons and a second track for those seeking to deepen their practice – with a focus on newer stories (such as the Lord’s Prayer and the Psalms) and tips for engaging older children. We’ll conclude the day together with a reflection on children’s spirituality and resources for parents and other caregivers. \nRegistration required; fee of $35 per person\, which includes continental breakfast and lunch. We don’t want cost to be a barrier to participation. DESCRIPTION:Between services on Sunday mornings\, we create space for children to deeply experience the texts and stories of the Bible that make us Christian people and form our faith. Classes are open to children in preschool through fifth grade and offer children the opportunity to grow in community with each other and caring adults. \nOn May 2\, the younger class will wonder about The Parable of the Sower while the older class will hear about The Circle of the Holy Eucharist. \nGodly Play is a Montessori-based curriculum that recognizes that children are already in relationship with God.
