A Liturgy of silence and stillness, Sundays at 7 p.m. in Thomsen Chapel (September–May)
Note that Contemplative Eucharist is suspended when Taize is offered, and occasionally for other Cathedral events.
About the Liturgy
This simple service of Holy Communion is spare in words and rich in silence, meditative music, and candlelight.
The traditional elements of Eucharist – gospel, prayers, blessing and breaking of bread and wine – anchor the service in pared-down form to provide ample time for silent reflection.
Anointing and healing blessings are offered after the service.
This service takes a hiatus during the summer.
Order of Service
You may view a representative service leaflet for the Contemplative Eucharist here. (The Order of Service changes slightly in different seasons.)
