CENTER FOR SPIRITUALITY & ACTION
The Center for Spirituality and Action at Saint Mark’s Cathedral supports those who want to draw nearer to God and deepen the spiritual grounding of their daily lives. In a nine-month cohort, participants engage in intentional community for a time of shared learning, developing contemplative practice, acts of service, and mutual accountability. This framework is designed to enrich relationships with God, self, others, and creation while being guided by ancient practices.

Program Focus
Community
Gathering weekly on Zoom to share learnings and tend our growing prayer practice.
Attending in-person events including classes, practice days, retreats and times of fellowship.
Partnering in prayer.
Contemplative Practice
Developing contemplative practice through teaching, guidance, and group sessions.
Learning, Study & Spiritual Direction
Engaging group-selected topics, taught through a variety of methods.
Joining Wisdom School classes.
Participating in regular spiritual direction.
Service
Ministering to the world through loving action, grounded in inner spiritual work.
Candidate Characteristics
This program serves individuals who are searching for spiritual renewal, mutual support, and compassionate solidarity at this critical moment in history. Participants gain a sense of knowing themselves and being known by others, as they become grounded in prayer and leave equipped and supported to pursue their faith through further practice.

Joining a Cohort
We welcome a diversity of age, gender, orientation, race, wealth, religious belief, and cultural and political perspectives. We ask that participants be willing to hold tension across differences while honoring all people and perspectives.
