Sunday Forum: Wholehearted Companions: Becoming a Dementia-Friendly Congregation

Dementia raises profound questions of identity, personhood, and faith. Many of us know or will know someone experiencing a form of dementia. Join seminarian Emily Meeks to explore how congregations can companion people with dementia on their spiritual journey through liturgical and spiritual practices and intergenerational relationships. Emily is a third year student at Virginia Theological Seminary and a candidate for Holy Orders to the priesthood sponsored by Saint Mark’s Cathedral. At VTS, her research has focused on the intersectionality of our Baptismal Covenant and different expressions of spiritual memory.
