Saint Mark’s Vestry is charged with supervising and sustaining the finances and the facilities and grounds of the cathedral, as well as giving direction and guidance to the parish ministries. The Vestry has a number of standing committees to support their work, including Worship & Prayer, Finance, Facilities, Stewardship, Creation Care, Intergenerational Council, Restorative Justice Council, and Communications.
The Vestry is comprised of the Dean (or Rector), laypeople who are elected by the parish, a representative of the Bishop of Olympia, and “Diocesan members” who are members of other parishes in the Diocese of Olympia. Elections are held each year at the Annual Meeting, typically on the last Sunday of January; contact nominations@saintmarks.org for more information.
The Vestry meets monthly, and meetings are open to the public. Contact vestry@saintmarks.org with questions and for meeting information. Meeting minutes, annual reports, and other resources are on the Financials & Archive page.
