Come just as you are to Morning Prayer on weekday mornings, on Zoom, following the form of the Book of Common Prayer 1979. All are welcome, whether you're still in your pj's, joining from your workplace, or listening on the move. No former experience with the Daily Office is necessary.
This group provides a weekly conversation around the scripture readings for the following Sunday. Each week a discussion is facilitated by rotating guest leaders, and lively conversation ensues as people share their thoughts about the lessons. The group meets from 12–1:30 p.m. for study and prayer over the lectionary, led by a rotating member of the cathedral staff and clergy. Join early at 11:30 for social time. Lay readers from Seattle-area congregations including the cathedral lead a spoken service of daily prayer following the form of the Book of Common Prayer 1979, every weekday evening at 6 p.m. The service lasts approximately 30 minutes.
The Vestry meets once a month, usually on the fourth Tuesday of the month. (Note: there is no fourth-Tuesday Vestry meeting in February, due to the Vestry retreat earlier that month. The Contemplative Prayer group gathers in the Saint Mark’s Cathedral nave each week. Meetings begin with a time of silent meditation, followed by a discussion of contemplative experience and practices, including Centering Prayer.
