About The Rubric

The Rubric is Saint Mark's Cathedral's magazine, in continual publication since December of 1890. Its mission is to tell the story of who we are as a community: as a parish, as a cathedral for the Diocese of Olympia, as Episcopalians, and as Christians. The articles in each issue showcase members, volunteers, programs and ways we help transform this community and the world.

The Rubric was named "Best Print Publication (Parish or Cathedral)" at the 2023 Polly Bond Awards for Excellence in Church Communications, awarded at the annual conference of Episcopal Communicators at Camp Allen, Texas, April 2023. It also received an "Award of Merit" in the 2022 Polly Bond Awards, awarded May 2022 in Savannah, Georgia.
