    Children’s Chapel

    Children’s Chapel is offered each Sunday at the 9 a.m. service. Children in preschool through second grade are invited to join the Gospel procession around the Deacon as the Gospel is proclaimed. Then they process to Thomsen Chapel for the Gospel story in a developmentally appropriate telling, singing, and prayer. They return to their families at the Peace. Younger children may attend accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

    Dementia raises profound questions of identity, personhood, and faith. Many of us know or will know someone experiencing a form of dementia. Join seminarian Emily Meeks to explore how congregations can companion people with dementia on their spiritual journey through liturgical and spiritual practices and intergenerational relationships.   • All Hallow’s Eve Family Playdate

    All families and kiddos (infants through elementary school) are invited to join for an All Hallows' Eve Family Playdate on Halloween in Bloedel Hall. Kids and their parents will enjoy fall themed snacks (friendly for all ages and dietary needs), crafts, games, and music. We will have story time at 9:45 a.m. Costumes are welcome!

    Godly Play is a Montessori-based curriculum that recognizes that children are already in relationship with God. On November 8, the younger class will learn about The Ten Best Ways while the older class will dive into The Prophet Ezekiel.

    Godly Play is a Montessori-based curriculum that recognizes that children are already in relationship with God. On November 15, the younger class will learn about Exile and Return while the older class will dive into The Prophet Isaiah.

    Cathedral Commons

    It’s easy to rejoice when we feel God’s presence: a moving service, a beautiful vista, an answered prayer. But when God feels absent, it’s another story. We can easily assume that we’ve failed God somehow, that God is disappointed in us or even angry. Spiritual darkness can be a hopeful sign that we are growing closer to God and more deeply connected to our neighbors.
