We are based in Canterbury, England and have had the pleasure of your Compline choir here this week, I have loved the zeal they bring to singing with us, and after speaking to one of the members after Eucharist today (18th August ‘24) I attended the evening Compline service in the crypt. To say I was not disappointed would be an understatement, it was truly special and something I am hugely grateful to have experienced. I am hopeful I am still here in Canterbury when they visit again, and if I am ever in Seattle I will be certain to visit the service there.

Angela, thank you so much for this comment! Compline in the undercroft at Canterbury was an enormously powerful experience for the members of the Compline Choir as well, not least because the choir considers it the cradle of their own liturgical practice. (It was in the Canterbury crypt that founder of the choir, Peter Hallock, first chanted Compline while engaged as a Lay Clerk at Canterbury in the late 1940s, an experience which he wished to re-create in Seattle after taking up the position as organist/choirmaster here at Saint Mark’s in 1951.) The Compline Choir’s next pilgrimage to England is planned for the summer of 2030, and please do visit us here in Seattle when you are able, or join via livestream! Peace to you.
