The Rev. Carol Westpfahl is a native of Seattle, and first became acquainted with Saint Mark’s while a student at the University of Washington, when she would join other students at the Sunday evening Compline service.
Carol was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 2001, sponsored by Saint Mark’s Cathedral. She holds a Master of Divinity from Church Divinity School of the Pacific, a Master of Arts in Christian Spirituality from the Graduate Theological Union, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Washington. She has served churches in Connecticut and Tennessee.
Carol helped establish the Seattle Chapter of Fr. Thomas Keating’s Contemplative Outreach; she is a commissioned trainer/facilitator of Centering Prayer, Welcoming Prayer, Labyrinth ministry, Listening Hearts discernment, and Brené Brown’s Daring Way & Rising Strong curricula, among others. She is a trained Spiritual Director. Carol relocated to Seattle in early 2026 to serve as the director of the Center for Spirituality and Action.
