Nancy moved to Seattle from the San Francisco Bay area in 2015 as a transitional deacon and immediately and happily found a home serving at Saint Mark’s. She was ordained to the priesthood here at the cathedral the following June. Nancy received her Master of Divinity degree from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA, in 2014 and completed a year-long hospital chaplain residency at Stanford Medical Center. She served as chaplain for Wesley Homes senior care in Auburn, WA and as a night-time chaplain at Swedish Medical Center before taking on full-time hours as curate here at Saint Mark’s. Nancy has a B.A. in Journalism and an M.F.A in Music, and her previous career has been as Communication Director for nonprofit organizations. She serves on the Advisory Board of Project Grace – Service Trips for Mothers Grieving the Death a Child (www.project-grace.org). She and her husband Jim Herrmann are proud parents of aerospace engineer Kelsey Herrmann and the late comic and tattoo artist Pat “Hetic” Herrmann.
