FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3, 7:30 P.M., in the cathedral nave
Everyone is heartily invited to enjoy an hour of music by J.S. Bach (with a little bit by Handel, too) performed by Canon Michael Kleinschmidt on the Flentrop organ, followed by a reception with refreshments. The program will include favorites such as Jesu, joy of man’s desiring, Sheep may safely graze, and the Toccata and Fugue in D minor.
The concert is offered in loving memory of Carol Ramamurti, who loved Bach’s organ music and the uncommon clarity and warmth with which it sounds in the nave of Saint Mark’s Cathedral. October 3 is Carol’s birthday. This autumn also marks the 60th anniversary of the inauguration of the Flentrop organ. The concert is free, and all are welcome.
