The Rev. Carol Westpfahl

Director of the Center for Spirituality and Action

The Rev. Carol Westpfahl is a native of Seattle, and first became acquainted with Saint Mark’s while a student at the University of Washington, when she would join other students at the Sunday evening Compline service.

Carol was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 2001, sponsored by Saint Mark’s Cathedral. She holds a Master of Divinity from Church Divinity School of the Pacific, a Master of Arts in Christian Spirituality from Graduate Theological Union, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Washington. She has served churches in Connecticut and Tennessee, and is currently serving as Vicar of Trinity Church, Gatlinburg, TN.

Carol helped establish the Seattle Chapter of Fr. Thomas Keating’s Contemplative Outreach; she is a commissioned trainer/facilitator of Centering Prayer, Welcoming Prayer, Labyrinth ministry, Listening Hearts, and Brené Brown’s Daring Way & Rising Strong curricula. She is a trained Spiritual Director.

Carol will begin her work with the Center for Spirituality and Action remotely beginning in September 2025, before relocating to Seattle in early 2026.
